Researching the Loudest Portable Bluetooth Speakers
During the research phase, I like to focus my energy on looking for particular features that make the loudest portable Bluetooth speaker extra palatable. In fact, by focusing my research on certain attractive features, I have the unique opportunity to discover amazing Bluetooth speakers that are not only loud, but also possess other attractive qualities.
For instance, there are a number of key areas which I chose to scrutinize while discovering my favorite Bluetooth speakers.
These key categories include the best overall speaker, the best portable option, the best waterproof choice, the smallest yet loudest, the best under $100, and the best under $50. By researching so many categories, I was able to ascertain a wide range of extraordinary Bluetooth speakers that fit in with different wants and needs of numerous purchasers.
As an example, some people have no problem paying $200 or $300 for loud Bluetooth speakers. On the other hand, other people might not have such a large budget so they may want to know the best Bluetooth speaker that costs less than $50 or less than $100.
I also focused my research on other areas including Bluetooth range, waterproof rating, sound quality, battery life, and other areas that you’ll read about below.
The Loudest Bluetooth Speakers In 2020
1. JBL Xtreme Wireless Bluetooth Speaker – Best Overall
The JBL Xtreme Wireless Bluetooth Speaker is the best of its kind because it’s available in five different colors, it’s highly respected and positively reviewed, it has loud audio, deep bass, and it’s waterproof.
✔️ What we like: Connects to three devices simultaneously
❌ What we don’t like: Weak battery and connectivity issues
- Hands-free crystal-clear phone calls
- Splashproof design
- Deep and pounding bass
- 15 hours of playtime
- Powerful rechargeable lithium-ion battery
You’re going to fall head over heels in love with this wireless Bluetooth speaker because you can take it with you wherever you go. If you plan on having a picnic in the park, or a birthday party in your backyard, or a dance recital in your local dance studio, you can bring this loud little speaker with you and enjoy your favorite music as you participate in any and all of these exciting events.
The great thing about this speaker is you can charge it for a few hours and get 15 hours of continuous playtime before the battery runs out. And since it charges off of a USB cable, you can easily plug it into a wall outlet, a PC, or any other USB compatible device and give it a quick charge while you’re using the speaker.
Unfortunately one of the reviewers that I read about said that he bought a speaker with a very weak battery. This doesn’t seem to be a normal occurrence with this speaker since so many people seem to love the long battery life. But he bought a faulty speaker and he could’ve either replaced the battery himself or contacted the manufacturer to get a replacement. But this problem can be easily solved with a new rechargeable battery.
Another reviewer struggled with connectivity issues. They were trying to connect the device to their MacBook and they had a very difficult time making a consistent connection. They may have been in an area with poor Bluetooth signals or it’s possible the device was faulty. Besides this instance, I haven’t really read about any other problems like this.
On the whole, I recommend the JBL Xtreme Wireless Bluetooth Speaker because of its clear and loud audio, the excellent rechargeable battery with dual USB ports, and the ability to connect to three devices at the same time wirelessly, which really makes this a top notch choice.
2. Bose SoundLink Revolve Portable Bluetooth Speaker – Best Portable
The Bose SoundLink Portable Bluetooth Speaker is my favorite portable speaker because the sound is deep, it’s loud and clear, it has a built-in microphone, 30 feet of wireless range, and 16 hours of playtime delivered by an astounding lithium-ion rechargeable battery.
✔️ What we like: Simultaneously pairs with two devices
❌ What we don’t like: Sporadic connectivity problems
- 360° sound performance
- IPX4 water resistance
- Connects to Siri and Google Assistant
- Easily pairs with multiple devices
- Connects to non-Bluetooth device with aux cable
So many people seem to gravitate toward this Bose speaker because it’s lightweight, lasts for 16 hours per charge, it’s water resistant, and it has 360° sound performance so everyone in the area can enjoy the beautiful music pumping through the speakers.
Do you know what else?
When compared to other speakers like this one, it stacks up nicely and this is especially true regarding the length of the battery life. On average, most Bluetooth speakers will only last for anywhere from 10 to 12 hours. This speaker can last up to 16 hours per charge, depending on how loud you play the audio while using it. The higher the volume, the more battery power you’ll use per charge.
Do you relish spending time outdoors?
Or do you need to listen to music or podcasts or something else within a group setting? This is a great speaker to bring with you because it’s so lightweight that you’ll barely notice your even carrying it around with you.
And if you’re worried about breaking it because it might rain that day, you shouldn’t have any fear because of the IPX4 water resistance factor. This speaker can withstand a rainstorm with the greatest of ease and still work beautifully after the fact.
One customer wasn’t happy because she suffered from sporadic connectivity problems. The Bluetooth would cut in and out when pairing it to certain devices. This is unfortunate but it doesn’t appear to be typical of all users’ experiences. So it may have been a faulty speaker and nothing more.
Believe it or not, I feel confident recommending the Bose SoundLink Portable Bluetooth Speaker because it’s the best portable speaker of its kind. The audio is loud and crystal-clear, the battery life lasts a long time when compared to its competitors, and the voice prompts, the connection to Google Assistant and Siri, and other great features make this the perfect portable speaker.
3. TREBLAB HD77 Bluetooth Speaker – Best Waterproof
The TREBLAB HD77 Bluetooth Speaker is a phenomenal choice because of its waterproof capabilities. It delivers 360° HD sound, is perfect for the outdoors, has an IPX6 waterproof rating, and you can practically use it all day because the battery life lasts for 20 hours.
✔️ What we like: Built-in microphone and ambient LED lighting
❌ What we don’t like: Faulty microphone and low-volume
- 1 year warranty
- Quick Bluetooth pairing
- 33 feet Bluetooth signal range
- 5200 MAH rechargeable battery
- Thrives in rain, sleet, or snow
Waterproof capabilities are the name of the game in this particular review. I chose this specific Bluetooth speaker because of its ability to withstand the elements. Now, I wouldn’t throw it in a swimming pool anytime soon because it will likely break. But if you get caught in a rainstorm, or some sleet, or a snowstorm, you should have no issues whatsoever with your speaker.
It should continue to work like normal because it’s designed to handle this level of water activity.
The built-in microphone is also a nice added touch. If you’re sitting in the park and enjoying some fresh air while listening to music and your phone rings, you can use the voice-activated controls to answer the phone and speak wirelessly through the Bluetooth speaker. Pretty cool, right?
Speaking of the microphone, one reviewer said that her microphone was faulty. She also said that the volume of her speaker came in low. It unfortunately sounds like she was delivered a broken speaker. Because in my experience, this speaker is very loud, the microphone works great, and I didn’t have any issues at all and most reviewers seem to feel the same way.
Truth be told, the TREBLAB HD77 Bluetooth Speaker is an awesome choice if you love outdoor adventures, playing sports, or just like spending time in the park or other local or distant outdoor places. It’s ideal for hiking, camping, and other outdoor activities because it can handle the elements like nobody’s business.
4. Vtin SoundHot Q1 Bluetooth Speaker – Best Small
The Vtin SoundHot Q1 Bluetooth Speaker is an absolute dream if you’re looking for a small yet powerfully loud Bluetooth speaker. It’s portable, it’s waterproof and works in the shower, and you can bring it with you to the beach, the swimming pool, or any other outdoor activity and never have to worry about it breaking when the speaker gets wet.
✔️ What we like: Available in four colors, micro SD/TF card support
❌ What we don’t like: Difficulty sticking to bathroom tiles
- HD stereo sound
- Suction cup for the shower
- 33 feet Bluetooth range
- Hands-free calling
- Built-in microphone
Do you like playing your music at high decibels in the shower?
But you aren’t interested in plugging in a loud boombox just to hear your music over the water. And the thought of bringing your phone into the bathroom is risky at best since you likely paid more than $1000 for the latest iPhone or Samsung. You do not want to damage your precious phone, right?
Instead, you should focus on this unbelievable portable Bluetooth Speaker that’s small and designed for the shower; it pumps out loud music so you can easily hear it over the water. Combine this with 10 hours of playtime, microSD and TF card support, and hands-free calling and you have an incredible little speaker in your possession.
A previous reviewer didn’t seem satisfied because the suction cup for the shower wouldn’t stick to her wall. As an alternative, she had to hang the speaker up on a hook that was already in the shower. She wanted the suction cup to work but she couldn’t get it to stick for one reason or another. This happens from time to time and it may even happen to you. Get creative and you’ll have no trouble using the speaker in the shower as well.
All things considered, I believe the Vtin SoundHot Q1 Bluetooth Speaker is a phenomenal choice because the music and audio that comes out of the speaker is so loud that you can hear it over a roaring shower, heavy waves, or crowded rooms filled with loud voices. The IPX5 waterproof rating and 10 hours of battery life makes this small speaker a giant in my mind.
5. JBL Flip 5 Bluetooth Speaker – Best Under $100
The JBL Flip 5 Bluetooth Speaker is an exciting choice for those looking for the best speaker under $100. It delivers 12 hours of continuous playtime, it has an IPX7 waterproof rating, and the sound is clear, booming, and very loud for a smaller portable speaker.
✔️ What we like: 44 mm drivers and USB-C quick charge
❌ What we don’t like: Poor battery longevity
- Stereo pairing
- Portable design
- Waterproof up to 3 feet deep
- Strong Bluetooth connectivity
- 11 distinct colors
I’m a big fan of this Bluetooth speaker because it’s so affordable under $100. And even though the price is right for a lower cost speaker of this caliber, it still has many of the best features that money can buy. So if you plan on spending time outdoors or traveling, you can bring this portable speaker along and still enjoy listening to your favorite music, audiobooks, or podcasts without being bogged down by headphones or earbuds.
Best of all, this speaker delivers 12 hours of continuous playtime and it’s waterproof. So you can bring it with you to the beach and listen to your favorite songs or whatever else all day long without having to worry about the battery running dry. And speaking of dry, you can splash this speaker with water and accidentally get it wet and it’s still going to work perfectly for you because of the waterproof capabilities. In fact, you can dunk this speaker underwater for a few minutes and it will still keep on ticking.
One reviewer had an issue with battery longevity. He felt that the battery life was poor and said he could only get his speakers to work for four hours at the most. While this is likely true, he may have blasted the audio and used up a lot of extra power or he bought one with a faulty rechargeable battery. Either way, this is easily fixable by asking the manufacturer for a replacement or buying a new rechargeable battery.
At the end of the day, the JBL Flip 5 Bluetooth Speaker is a fine choice. You can pair it with multiple speakers, connect wirelessly to your favorite devices, and quickly charge the battery for an additional 12 hours of beautiful sounds emanating from your speaker.
6. DOSS SoundBox Bluetooth Speaker – Best Under $50
The DOSS SoundBox Bluetooth Speaker is a one-of-a-kind portable wireless dynamo that creates gorgeous sounds for less than $50. It’s a fine choice because it delivers HD quality audio from dual full range drivers; it pairs to two devices simultaneously, and provides 20 hours of battery life.
✔️ What we like: 3200 MAH rechargeable battery and sensitive touch control
❌ What we don’t like: Audio volume not loud enough
- Built-in microphone
- 16 W stereo speakers
- Hands-free calling
- five lighting patterns
- Pair 2 SoundBox speakers together
I have no problem recommending this Bluetooth speaker because it’s such an excellent option for such an affordable price. It’s rare that you can find such high quality merchandise for below $50, but that’s exactly what you get when you buy the speaker.
More than anything else, I really love the HD superior sound quality. I like to listen to my music with the volume turned up at all times. This is especially true when I plan on bringing my speaker with me outdoors. You never know if you’re going to be in a crowded room or a park with loud people or a busy subway station. Regardless of where you are, being able to pump your music or favorite talk radio program is of the utmost importance and that’s exactly what you can do with this speaker.
Oddly enough, one reviewer complained that the audio volume wasn’t loud enough. He probably did have a low-volume speaker. He unfortunately was delivered a speaker that didn’t work right. Most other reviewers say the 16 W stereo sounds are quite loud, crystal-clear, and easy to listen to.
I have no trouble recommending the DOSS SoundBox Bluetooth Speaker because of the low price point, the Bluetooth capabilities, and the 20 hours of playtime. Combine this with a quick three-hour recharge and an included micro USB cable and this speaker is a favorite of mine as you can likely tell.
7. Anker Soundcore 2 Bluetooth Speaker
The Anker Soundcore 2 Bluetooth Speaker is a joy to listen to because of the 12 W stereo sound, the Bluetooth 5.0 connectivity, the powerful waterproof rating, and 24 hours of continuous playtime make this an awesome choice.
✔️ What we like: 52 MAH lithium-ion battery
❌ What we don’t like: Aggressive power saving mode
- Heavy-duty lightweight design
- IPX7 waterproof protection
- Booming bass w/ BassUp tech
- 24 hours of battery life
- Loud and intense stereo sound
More than anything else, I’m a big fan of this Bluetooth speaker because it’s compact, easy to carry around with you, yet the speakers are powerful, the bass booms, and it’s incredibly loud. These are all the things that I want in a speaker that I intend to bring to parties, outdoor gatherings, and other crowded events.
The best thing of all about this speaker is the 24 hours of battery life. I tend to leave my house early in the morning and spend the entire day out and about having a good time with friends and family. And I always enjoy bringing my music along with me so I need a portable speaker that’s going to last the whole day. You get this with the Anker speaker in spades because the battery lasts for 24 hours which is stupendous.
I do not necessarily like the power saving mode. The power saving mode kicks in and it cuts off the battery power which means the audio gets lower and it’s harder to hear. This can be annoying at times if you’re really into a song that you want to hear at full volume. Otherwise the speaker itself is trying to help you by preserving its battery life. You just might not get to listen to your music at the higher dB that you appreciate the most.
When all’s said and done, the Anker Soundcore 2 Bluetooth Speaker is an amazing choice. According to many reviewers, this is one of their favorite speakers ever and they love it because of the awesome sound, the dual neodymium drivers and they dig that this speaker will keep working beginning early in the morning and well into the night.
8. AOMAIS Sport Bluetooth Speaker
The AOMAIS Sport Bluetooth Speaker is great for parties, going to the beach, and other social events. It’s waterproof, small so it travels easily, and lasts for 30 hours which is truly astonishing.
✔️ What we like: IPX7 waterproof protection, 100 feet Bluetooth range
❌ What we don’t like: Battery life isn’t as strong as advertised
- Incorporates true wireless stereo pairing
- Can connect 2 speakers simultaneously
- 100 feet Bluetooth range
- Bluetooth ready and 3.5 mm capable
- Superior sound quality
This speaker is outstanding as you can undoubtedly tell already. It’s portable so it’s easy to bring with you when you travel to an outdoor event like camping or going to the beach. Plus it’s completely waterproof with an IPX7 protection rating, which means you can drop it in a swimming pool or puddle and it will still work perfectly even after being waterlogged.
On a downer, one reviewer said the battery life didn’t last nearly as long as it was supposed to. He said the battery only lasted from 8 to 12 hours. But if you read the fine print, it will only last for 30 hours if you keep the volume level at 50% or lower. So maybe he cranked up the volume all the way to 10 and the battery died quicker.
On the whole, the AOMAIS Sport Bluetooth Speaker is a fine choice because it’s relatively inexpensive, it’s waterproof, it’s durable and lasts for a long time, and it has a wide Bluetooth range.
9. New SOUNDBOKS Bluetooth Speaker Review
The New SOUNDBOKS Bluetooth Speaker is truly a dynamic portable powerhouse. It delivers 126db of booming bass and crisp treble, it’s resistant to dirt, water, and other elements, and it it’s completely wireless for your convenience.
✔️ What we like: 40 hours of battery life, Bluetooth 5.0 connectivity
❌ What we don’t like: Less bass than its predecessor, low bass frequencies
- Durable splashproof design
- Wired or wireless connectivity
- Easy to connect within minutes
- No distortion
- Extra-long battery life
I have to admit that I was very skeptical when I first learned about this portable speaker. Why? It’s not cheap. Let’s just leave it at that. But I have to say that it lives up to the hype.
And even better, I can take this intense speaker with me wherever I go and pump out ear bleeding stereo sound to places like a tailgating party, a backyard BBQ, a community event, a day at the beach, or a local house party or block party filled to the brim with my favorite neighbors, family, and friends.
Although I thought the bass sounded perfectly fine, a reviewer or two seems to have a problem with it. One reviewer compared the bass for this model to its predecessor and said it wasn’t as good. Since I never used the first version I can’t say whether this is true or not. And another reviewer claims the bass frequencies are too low. Again, I didn’t feel this way at all. But I don’t listen to music with heavy bass riffs, so I might not be the best judge of character. You’ve been cautioned.
Taking everything into account, I believe the New SOUNDBOKS Bluetooth Speaker is a fantastic speaker to purchase. It has a powerful battery delivering 40 hours of audio filled bliss, the best Bluetooth 5.0 connectivity, 126db of butt kicking sound, and it’s even splashproof and waterproof, so you bring it with you and get caught in the rain and you don’t have to be afraid because the speaker will continue to thrive even after it gets wet.

Are you planning to spend lots of time listening to music on the beach? Most people love bringing portable speakers with them to the beach because they want to enjoy their favorite tunes as they bask in the sun.
They also want to go swimming from time to time in the ocean and this can pose a problem with electronics. But this isn’t a problem for all Bluetooth speakers because the best are completely waterproof so dripping a little water on them will not do any damage whatsoever.
Long battery life is also the name of the game when seeking loud Bluetooth speakers. You’re likely planning to bring this speaker with you wherever you go. That means you may not be able to charge it for 12 hours or more so you need a speaker that can last. Do yourself a favor and choose one that has solid longevity anywhere between 12 to 30 hours of battery or more.
Stereo Quality Sound
This should be a no-brainer but it bears mentioning anyway. If you choose a speaker with poor sound quality you’re going to hate it plain and simple. So find a speaker that’s loud, clear, balanced, and has excellent treble and bass control.
